Günter Hofmann receives Tool and Mould Making Medal of Honour
Our long-standing Managing Director Günter Hofmann was awarded the “Werkzeug & Formenbau Ehrenmedaille” (Tool & Mould Making Medal of Honour) at Moulding Expo 2023.
His decades of commitment to the industry, the continuous filling of honorary positions and the promotion of young talent convinced the independent jury. Not to forget, of course: The strong leadership of our company over several decades.

The medal is awarded by an independent jury consisting of respected personalities from the VDMA, the VDWF – Verband Deutscher Werkzeug- und Formenbauer e.V. (Association of German Tool and Mould Makers) and the WBA Aachener Werkzeugbau Akademie GmbH. With this award, the jury recognises special merits and outstanding contributions to the development of tool and mould making.
The award does not aim to honour a completed life’s work of the honoured, but rather to serve as an incentive to continue to exert a positive influence on the industry and, in particular, to serve as a role model and guide for younger generations.

Medal of Honour at Moulding Expo 2023
The renowned Medal of Honour is awarded every two years for outstanding achievements in the industry at the Moulding Expo, a leading trade fair for the tool moulding industry.
The Moulding Expo offers a diverse supporting programme which focuses on innovations, practical applications, future perspectives and the promotion of young talent. A special highlight of this programme was the presentation of the Tool and Mould Making Medal of Honour. As a firm tradition, this honour takes place every two years as part of Moulding Expo and recognises exceptional services within the industry.

Günter Hofmann took over the family business Siegfried Hofmann GmbH from his father Siegfried Hofmann in 1995. More than two decades later, he handed over the company management to his son Stefan Hofmann in 2018.
During his time as managing director, the company trained over 500 apprentices, opened a new training centre, several new buildings e.g. for the mechanical engineering sector, and a completely new factory plant in Lichtenfels. He also promoted the development of the company as an international, high-tech player in toolmaking as well as the rapid growth of the mechanical engineering division.
